About the movie?

Nobody’s Daughter Haewon (Hangul: 누구의 딸도 아닌 해원: Nugu-ui ttal-do anin Haewon) is a 2013 South Korean drama film written and directed by Hong Sang-soo. The narrative is told in diary format and chronicles a few days in the life of a young woman (Jung Eun-chae) who spins into depression following the departure of her mother to Canada. She falls back on a troubled affair with a professor (Lee Sun-kyun), who offers to whisk her away.

The film was nominated in several award ceremonies around the world, including the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Busan Film Critics Awards and the Buil Film Awards in 2013, for its portrayal of the young girl smitten with a French actress play by Jane Birkin.

For more information, you can check the film out at TMOCA’s website, which also has an amazing exhibition on at the moment from acclaimed Iranian artist Ali Akbar Sadeghi.
