Ramadan 2019: Intl. Quran Exhibition Underway in Tehran

The 27th International Quran Exhibition has kicked off at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on May 11 during a special ceremony attended by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi and a number of cultural figures.

Copies of the Holy Quran published by various Iranian and international publishers have been put on view at the exhibit, which is organized every year during the holy month of Ramadan that is known as the spring of the Holy Quran.

The expo which officials claim to be the world’s biggest Quranic event, has numerous sections and each one is dedicated to a certain activity related to the Quran. The international art section of the event is where artists from around the world showcase valuable artworks inspired by the holy book of Islam.

The annually-held exhibit has also dedicated sections to display top translations and interpretations of the Holy Quran.

Showcasing more than one hundred works from professional Iranian contemporary artists, a new gallery dedicated to the works of renowned Iranian artists welcomes visitors in the 27th international Quran exhibition. The paintings, photographs and sculptures on display carry mystical and Quranic messages.

According to the deputy cultural minister Abdulhadi Feghhizadeh, as many as 10 Islamic countries have taken part at the exhibition, which is held over a vast area.

Feghhizadeh also said that the 27th exhibition is attended by more institutions in comparison with the previous years, adding all the activities during the event such as enrollment are automated.

Countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, Yemen, India, Iraq, Indonesia, Tunisia, Palestine, Afghanistan and Russia have been invited to participate in the 27th International Quran Exhibition.

The exhibition which opened to public on May 12 will last for 14 days until May 26.
