Meraj Indian Restaurant
Meraj is a hidden gem in Iran’s downtown down a back alley just across from City Theatre and Daneshjoo Park. The location may seem a bit odd, but the food and spicy Indian dishes. The restaurant makes a mean Rogan Josh, and also yummy garlic naan bread, according to several reviewers. Many people say the food is one of the cheapest places in Tehran for low-cost food and is popular with the many students in the area.

Tandoor Indian Restaurant at Safir Hotel
Another Indian restaurant based in the basement of an Indian-owned hotel is a great treat for people who are in the downtown area of the city. You’ll know when you are there as there are several great dishes and through the summer you can sit in the courtyard at the back of the restaurant.
