Nestled in the northeast of Tehran, amidst the lush Lavizan forest, lies the enchanting Tehran Birds Garden—a haven for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts. This magnificent garden offers a unique opportunity to witness a diverse array of avian species in a tranquil and picturesque setting. With its two distinct phases, featuring both caged and free-flying birds, the Tehran Birds Garden provides an immersive experience that showcases the beauty and majesty of these winged creatures.
The Captivating World of Caged Birds
As you enter the Tehran Birds Garden, you are greeted by the delightful chatter of talking parrots—a charming welcome that sets the tone for your bird-watching adventure. The first phase of the garden showcases an assortment of birds, including pigeons, parrots, roosters, and more. Marvel at the intricate cages that house these captivating creatures and observe their vibrant colors and unique behaviors up close. The entrance, situated at the highest point of the garden, offers a panoramic view of the entire area, allowing you to catch a glimpse of the expansive cage that serves as a home to various majestic eagles.
A Flight of Freedom
As you venture further into the Tehran Birds Garden, you’ll encounter the second phase—a spacious area in the northern part where birds can freely soar through the air. To ensure their safety and prevent them from straying, a protective net is in place, allowing the birds to fly gracefully while still keeping them within the designated space. This phase covers an impressive area of over 6 hectares, providing ample room for these magnificent creatures to showcase their natural instincts and breathtaking aerial displays.
A Tapestry of Natural Beauty
Immerse yourself in the serene ambiance of the bird garden as you stroll along the beautifully designed paths adorned with lush trees and vibrant flowers. The garden’s picturesque surroundings make each step a joyous experience, inviting you to embrace the tranquility of nature. Keep your eyes peeled for a remarkable array of bird species, including pheasants, peacocks, pelicans, flamingos, and over 200 other bird species native to Iran. Marvel at their vibrant plumage and observe their fascinating behaviors in their carefully curated habitats.
Beyond Birds: Waterfalls, Ponds, and Architectural Delights
Exploring the Tehran Birds Garden offers more than just bird-watching. Don’t miss the opportunity to discover the nearby waterfalls and large ponds that add an enchanting touch to the overall ambiance. The garden’s design pays homage to traditional Iranian architecture, incorporating elements such as nomadic tents, pavilions, and benches where visitors can relax and take in the captivating surroundings.
Ali’s Review!
Took my 4 year old daughter here on a recent visit and she loved it.
There is a massive dome to allow for the birds to roam free without flying away, and it so big that you feel like being completely outdoors. Lots of beautiful peacocks roaming around, and plenty of other exotics birds too. The grounds are clean and well kept. Definitely worth the visit, but would recommend cooler early spring or autumn days.
