The Laleh International Hotel opened in 1971 as the InterContinental and stands on Fatemi Street beside Laleh Park, the green heart of central Tehran, with the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Carpet Museum just across the park.
It is a large five-star with around 380 rooms, an outdoor pool, several restaurants serving Chinese, French and Iranian food, a business centre, meeting rooms and free parking.
A renovation programme is being carried out room by room while the hotel stays open, so rooms may differ in standard. Ask for a refurbished room when you book, and check recent guest reviews before you commit.

Paying: Foreign bank cards do not work in Iran, so bring enough euros or dollars in cash and change them at an exchange office or the hotel desk. The Laleh International Hotel still has one of the best locations of any big hotel in Tehran. Laleh Park is a pleasant place for a morning walk, the Carpet Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art are on the far side of it, and the cafés of Keshavarz Boulevard are a few minutes away on foot. The upper floors have wide views over the city to the south. The trade-off is uneven rooms, so read the most recent guest reviews on Tripadvisor before you book.
