Updated November 2026 Rebelan’s online map listing showed it as temporarily closed in late 2026, so check its Instagram page before you go; we have refreshed the review and the location details.
Rebelan Café and Restaurant is a rooftop-style venue on the seventh floor of the Tandis Shopping Centre on Tajrish Square, and its main selling point is obvious the moment you step out on to the terrace: wide views across north Tehran towards the Alborz. It mixes Iranian grills, Lebanese-style mezze and European comfort food under one roof, which makes it an easy choice for a group with different tastes, a weekend brunch or a relaxed evening after shopping in Tajrish.

Arrival sets the tone. The entrance is lined with mirrors, and few groups get through it without stopping for a photo. Inside, the space is split between a café area and a restaurant, with a terrace that comes into its own on summer evenings, when the roof is opened and there is often music in the background.
The menu is broad. On the Iranian side, kebabs are the strength, including the Dastan kebab of lamb chops and an Uzbek-style shami kebab, an unusual dish to find on a Tehran menu. From further west in the region come mezze and Lebanese-inspired plates, while the European section covers pizza, pasta and generous salads. Desserts are a highlight, and there are lighter options for anyone not wanting a full meal.

The café menu runs from coffee and cold drinks to special teas, pastries and cakes, so it works just as well for an afternoon break as for dinner. At weekends Rebelan has been known for its breakfast buffet, with fresh fruit, honey, juices, pancakes and waffles alongside a traditional Iranian breakfast spread; it is popular, so go early.

Diners consistently praise the views, the décor, the kebabs and the breakfast buffet. The most common complaints are slow or disorganised service at busy times and prices on the high side for the area, so allow time and do not come in a hurry. A digital menu in English and Persian has been available on Rebelan’s online menu, which is the easiest way to check current dishes and prices.
Getting there is simple: Tajrish metro station, the northern end of Line 1, is a short walk away. Combine a meal with a browse around Tajrish Bazaar or a stroll through the wider Tajrish neighbourhood. For a sense of what eating out costs at the moment, see our Iran prices tracker.
