Neauphle-le-Chateau Russian School Tehran
Neauphle-le-Chateau Russian School is the only Russian-language school in the country teaching children from kindergarten to high school level the entire Russian state curriculum.
The establishment is one of the oldest foreign-run schools in the Iranian capital; it was initially founded in 1954 as a primary school with secondary education being added in 1995.
The school is not-for-profit and welcomes children from all countries. Currently, the majority students are from Russia and Commonwealth of Independent (CIS) States countries. The school is operated within the Russian Embassy in central Tehran and offers an educated under license from the Russian state system.
According to information on the school’s website, formal education starts from age 6/7 in classes of around 12 students. In year one lessons children learn to count up to 10 in Russian, problem solving, pure mathematics. Also, children learn speech, simple reading and learn to talk about their families and lives.
The school teaches children up to 11th grade with testing conducted by state authorities (Рособрнадзор). Although the classroom teaches primarily in Russian, other languages including French and English are also part of the current curriculum.
The school certifications are all officially presented by the Russian Education and Science Ministry in Moscow up to the age of 16 provided under the jurisdiction of the Moscow-based ministry.
According to the website each term costs $170, however, we cannot verify this is the current price due to the age of the school website. The school states there are discounts for embassy staff of Russia and other countries.
