Musical theatre project moves to main Tehran venue for free performance

The musical theatre project “Restless Soul”, a collaboration between Sajjad Afsharyan and Ehsan Abdipour originally scheduled for Vahdat Hall, has been relocated to the main auditorium of Tehran’s City Theatre complex, Rah Dana News Network reported on July 2.

Afsharyan explained the venue change resulted from audio system repairs at Vahdat Hall, necessitating the transfer to the City Theatre’s main auditorium. The performance, initially planned for three shows on Thursday evening, will now feature a single presentation at 19:00.

The production features performances by Siavash Parsa Manesh, Melika Zadeh Mohammadi, Ava Moghithie, Sogol Ejlali, Yalda Angali, Saghar Rajabi, Mehyar Alizadeh, alongside Afsharyan and Abdipour.

The project’s debut performance on July 27 at the City Theatre’s main auditorium received positive audience reception. The collaborative work represents a fusion of musical and theatrical elements, bringing together established performers from Iran’s cultural scene.

The venue change accommodates technical requirements whilst maintaining the scheduled presentation for theatre enthusiasts. Tehran’s City Theatre complex serves as one of the capital’s primary cultural venues, hosting diverse performances throughout the year.

The partnership between Afsharyan and Abdipour demonstrates continued collaboration within Iran’s performing arts community, with the duo developing original content for local audiences. The project’s success has generated interest in potential future presentations at additional venues.
